East Bay’s Hanson Hui and Ross Lim worked the post to close to 27-23. Jimmy Lee and Kirk Tsuye sank three jumpers and a lay-up, assist to Kyle Taniguchi for a 35-23 score. The teams matched points and the half finished with Quicksilver ahead, 41-32.

AYE MINOR

FOR Bandits bushwacked East Bay Court Jesters, coasting to a 77-61 triumph.

Jordan Hiroshima was named MVP for his long-range sniping. Just the threat of his shot made shambles of the Court Jester defense. When left alone, Hiroshima knocked down treys. When the defense followed him to halfcourt, Bandits ran through the middle of the court. Hiroshima scored 20, Kyler Kitani hit 19, Dayn Araki finished with 12 and Kevin Maruyama tallied 10.

East Bay wanted to cram the ball into the post with some outside shooting to keep the defense honest. Their plans failed as the Bandits half-court trap speeded up the game. By the time a Jester sank a jumper from outside the key, over 11m. had elapsed. FOR led 29-12 at this juncture. The South Bay maintained their edge to the break, 41-23, matching the efforts of EB’s Jonathan Kwok and Christopher Lim.

FOR went 7-for-17 from beyond the arc in the first half, with five players attempting at least one try.. Court Jesters were 1-for-8.

Bandits continued to apply the pressure with steals for lay-ups and long-range bombs to open up a 70-35 margin. They took their foot off the throttle and cruised to the finish.
